Front magazine

We have a nice feature in the next issue of Front magazine, featuring our Death is the Silence tee.
Much appreciated Will.

Mitelli

Way of the Dragon

It's a toss between this and Enter the Dragon as the best Bruce Lee flick for myself. For all round entertainment and comedy value I would have to go with this movie.
The basic plot is as follows - Bruce's character is sent from Hong Kong to Rome to help his sick friend's niece, and some family friends whose restaurant is being targeted by the local gangsters and forcing them to sign a contract which will make the Mafia boss gain control of the property.
The final fight scene between Bruce and Chuck Norris in the Colosseum, in an iconic fight scene.

Jake and Elwood

A classic movie. I watched The Blues Brothers today and I have to say, it's still an amazing movie. I must have been about 10 or even younger when my dad first introduced me to the film. It must have been one of the first films that got me really interested in music - especially R&B and Soul. With two comedy geniuses like Belushi and Aykroyd and an all star cast which featured Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, BB King and more, how could the movie fail. If you haven't seen it due to reasons I don't even wanna know about, watch it!!

The Joy of Painting Cabin Fever

So I'm starting to get bored out of my head stuck in all day. Luckily I had the honour of watching some old Bob Ross episodes.
I remember watching these as a kid and today we had the priviledge of watching his son paint also. Check him out. What I didn't realise was these were only filmed in the early 90's..And not the 80's!! What excuse does that give his son for looking the way he does??
Funny anyways.

Scratch session.

All this being on the sick, I decided to have a little go on the turntables. I admit I don't practice much these days as basically I don't have the time but I still love to get on the decks as much as possible for a little scratch.
Enjoy

Amazing!!!

Colour Separations

The white underbase for a dark shirt.

Yellow ink

Red ink

Blue ink

As promised a while back I thought it would be a good idea to show you a kind of step by step showing you a design through the various stages of separating the colours in photoshop before the design is printed.
This type of separation is called simulated process and is separated via the channels in photoshop. Each channel will then be halftoned during the output stage by our printer and the individual channels printed. (Usually from light to dark).
This particular design for our upcoming spring/summer season is a 4 colour simulated process separation using a white underbase for a black tee, yellow, red and blue.
Enjoy and any further questions please email me.

Winter Warmer

What better way to keep your head warm on a cold day.
Thanks Amina

Renaissance Style

I'm a firm believer that if you are a designer you have to have done your research through many of the styles of the past to draw up inspiration in order to create unique memorable pieces.
I do get frustrated seeing alot of these "streetwear" associated clothing brands (not mentioning any names) that basically seem to fixate their designs on only particular themes which seem to have been recycled over and over. For example a halftoned image stolen from google or some reference to sneakers along with an oversized font.
Come on guys. Lets get creative. It's 2009. Take some time out, goto the library and look back at some of the work which was created in the 15th century for example. Amazing.
Anyways checkout a couple of bits and bobs. Enjoy!!
